First Contact Physio (FCP)

St Stephen's are proud to be able to offer patients appointments with a FCP (First Contact Physiotherapist) on a Friday here at the surgery.

First contact practitioners are physiotherapists with enhanced skills. They can help patients with bone/joint/soft tissue issues by:

·         assessing and diagnosing issues

·         giving expert advice on how best to manage their conditions

·         referring them onto specialist services if necessary.

 

Patients with back and joint pain and soft tissue problems, including conditions such as arthritis, will now be able to see a practitioner, quickly and without requiring a referral. By making it easier for patients to access physiotherapist, patients will have quicker access to diagnosis and treatment, helping them to manage their conditions more effectively and recover faster, so they can get back to normal life quickly.

The FCP will have access to your medical record and the outcome of your appointment will be visible to your GP. All appointments unless otherwise advised are face to face. You need to attend your appointment on Friday appointments at the surgery.
